Title
Description
The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) has announced a call for Letters of Intent for the 2027 Rivkin Pilot Grant to advance groundbreaking research in ovarian and related gynecologic cancers. Research projects supported under this opportunity must be innovative and multidisciplinary, designed to test feasibility, generate preliminary data, and demonstrate strong potential for subsequent external funding with clear translational relevance; proposals may include analysis of data from previously funded clinical trials if they advance a novel hypothesis or provide proof-of-concept findings; and all projects must focus on ovarian cancer or show clear and direct relevance to ovarian cancer, including related gynecologic cancers. The grant provides up to $50,000 USD annually for two years, for a total of $100,000 USD, awarded to the Principal Investigator’s institution. The grant start date is March 1, 2027. Recipients will be required to submit activation deliverables as well as annual narrative and financial progress reports throughout the grant period. Any publications or presentations resulting from the funded research must acknowledge support from OCRA. Principal Investigators at all career stages are eligible to apply, provided they hold a PhD, ScD, MD, or other doctoral degree at the time of application. There are no citizenship restrictions, and international applicants are welcome. However, an individual may serve as Principal Investigator on only one Letter of Intent per grant cycle across all OCRA grant opportunities, though they may participate in additional submissions in non-PI roles. A Principal Investigator may hold only one active OCRA grant at a time, and any currently active grant must conclude before a new one begins. Eligible institutions include accredited academic institutions and other nonprofit research entities such as universities, colleges, research hospitals, research institutes, and recognized scientific research facilities that conduct research directly. Funding is not available to for-profit entities, consulting companies, non-research organizations, or nonprofits that are not directly conducting the proposed research. Applications will be reviewed based on scientific merit, originality, and relevance to ovarian or related gynecologic cancers. Reviewers will also evaluate the likelihood that the funding will help investigators build or strengthen research teams capable of delivering high-impact results and successfully securing future external funding.
