Description
Unitaid has launched a new Call for Proposals to accelerate cervical cancer elimination in low- and middle-income countries by strengthening secondary prevention through nationally led and integrated health programs. The objective of this Call for Proposals is to introduce and scale innovative tools and approaches including next-generation HPV diagnostics, digital health solutions, and cost-optimized delivery models; accelerate demand and adoption of cervical cancer screening and treatment services aligned with the global elimination strategy; promote equity, community engagement, lived experience leadership, and strong governance; and strengthen supply and delivery systems for sustainable, transparent, and efficient procurement and distribution of cervical cancer commodities within broader women’s health supply chains. The total funding available under this call is expected to be approximately US$30 million, with final allocations depending on the scope and quality of proposals received. The funding will support national and large subnational programs that are ready to establish routine cervical cancer services embedded within primary health care systems, including integration with immunization, HIV, tuberculosis, noncommunicable disease, and maternal health platforms. Proposals are encouraged to apply cost-effective innovations such as AI-assisted screening, point-of-care diagnostics, pooled laboratory services, and digital tools for referral and follow-up, while strengthening supply chains, improving continuity of care, and supporting sustainable financing pathways for long-term country ownership.
